Business owners Beware….British standards relating to the installation and maintenance of fire alarms systems (BS5839) were revised in 2005.
Did you know?
- The responsibility for fire alarms doesn’t just rest with system designers, but businesses are also required to ensure alarms on their premises are serviced and maintained at least every 6 months.
- Businesses are required to have a written fire alarm system log book, which is up to date.
- A businesses’ fire alarm system needs to be tested weekly, quarterly and annually.
- Results of the testing and any false alarms need to be recorded in your fire alarm log book.
Indigo Electrical can train you and your staff how to use and test your fire alarm on a weekly basis and we will supply you with a log book and show you how to fill it in.
We can carry out weekly, quarterly, 6 monthly and annual testing and maintenance on your fire alarm system and make sure that you meet your legal obligations.
